Our Story – It All Started in a Kitchen, Not a Garage
While managing manufacturing for household electronics at Philips, our founder noticed that legacy coatings for circuit boards couldn’t fully protect modern electronics without sacrificing signal, heat dissipation, and conductivity. He went on a self-appointed conformal coating crusade and gathered the brightest minds from the likes of MIT to help him fix the problem.
With grit, skill, and some youthful naivete, he and his partners developed a revolutionary thin, gel-state coating that’s thermally neutral and boasts 100% signal integrity while maintaining conductivity. Today, nearly 15 years later, actnano’s Advanced nanoGUARD™ coatings set the global standard for liquid protection across consumer electronics and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). actnano’s team of unrivaled expertise ensures mission-critical systems the world relies on never fail.

The original visionary
Taymur Ahmad is the founder and CEO of actnano Inc. Before founding actnano in 2012, T spent nearly 20 years in manufacturing management with Fortune 50 companies like Alcoa and Philips.

Jim Sheridan

Jim joined actnano in 2013 after spending 16 years in strategy and consulting roles across companies like Acccenture and Gartner. He holds an MBA from Ohio State University.

Ivan Ardemagni

The capital architect
Ivan joined actnano as CFO in 2018 after serving as VP of investment banking and capital markets at Credit Suisse and an associate at PwC. His experience also includes stints in venture capital and growth equity.
Education
Ivan has an MBA from Dartmouth and a Master of Science from Bocconi University.
Sruti Balasubramanian
CTO
The magic maker
Sruti joined actnano in 2017 as a director of product development. Her role and contributions quickly evolved to leading all of product development while also leading actnano’s business operations in Europe. She was named chief technology officer in early 2026. Sruti holds a Master of Science in chemical engineering from Penn State University.

Josh Klemme

Josh joined actnano in 2024 and brings more than 20 years of driving commercial growth for both B2B and B2C companies. Prior to joining actnano, Josh worked with McKinsey & Company as an associate partner.
