After our design phase, we coat the boards for free at our facility or yours, then we test. We either use your facility or our own industry-standard machinery to test and optimize your full coating profile. Then we deliver a full report to you before we move forward.

Chief Technology Officer
Sruti Balasubramanian makes the magic happen at actnano. She has a knack for identifying, developing, and launching impactful technologies, while simultaneously building and enabling brilliant, high-functioning teams. Her many contributions include launching and leading actnano’s business, technology, and IP strategy and operational footprint in Munich, Germany. Sruti holds a Master of Science in chemical engineering from Penn State University and a bachelor’s degree in petroleum refining and petrochemicals from Anna University Chennai. Sruti has been granted 18 patents over the course of her career with nearly 80 published patents overall.
Vice President, Technology & Sustainability
Cassandra Zentner is the architect and lead of actnano’s Global Technical Support team. A scientist by trade, Cassandra holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Oberlin College. Her skills, experience, and leadership sit at the intersection of fundamental research, product strategy, and business development. She is a distinguished professional in the fields of materials science and chemistry, holds one patent, and has contributed to two additional provisional patents. Her work has been published in several peer-reviewed journals, such as the American Chemical Society, Chemical Communications, and Chemistry of Materials.
Director, Product Development
Irina Rasid leads all product development for actnano. She and her team build out actnano’s pipeline of new products while simultaneously expanding the company’s portfolio of intellectual property. Irina is known for solving the toughest, most-complex customer problems, and provides her technical leadership where and when the team needs it most. Irina holds a Ph.D. in Polymers and Soft Matter from MIT and a Master of Engineering in materials science and engineering from Imperial College London. Her work has been published in journals like Macromolecules, Soft Matter, and Physical Review Materials. Irina has two provisional patents and one patent pending.
Principal Engineer (California)
Jacob (Jake) Terracina is advancing actnano’s solutions and capabilities for AI hardware and data centers, including managing related technical projects and providing engineering support for Bay Area consumer electronics companies. A distinguished industry professional, Jake previously worked as director of R&D for ViaeX Technologies and a materials characterization engineer at Sensel, Inc. Jake holds a Ph.D. in nanoscale engineering from SUNY Albany’s College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering and a bachelor’s degree in nanosystems engineering from Louisiana Tech University. His work has been published in the Journal of Molecular Modeling and Journal of Molecular Recognition. He presented some of this work at the 9th International Conference on Molecular Imprinting in 2016. Jake holds five patents focused on novel human-machine interface hardware.
Principal Scientist
Ethan Sauve leads the applied research and interfacial science initiatives for actnano’s U.S.-based North American technical services team. His primary focus is on the advancement of automotive electronics, bridging the gap between fundamental materials science and high-performance industrial applications. A distinguished scientist, Ethan holds a Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia and completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). His work has been published in more than 23 publications, including Nature, Cell, and American Chemical Society.
Lead Scientist
Morgan Taylor leads development efforts to expand actnano’s product portfolio while guiding the team through technical challenges and project strategy. A deep technical expert of actnano’s product set, Morgan has helped accelerate company sales and support manufacturing challenges while serving as an adviser to the broader global team. Morgan holds a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Tufts University along with master’s and bachelor’s degrees in chemical engineering, both from Rutgers University. Her work has been published in American Chemical Society’s (ACS) Applied Polymer Materials, ACS Material Letters, the Journal of Physical Chemistry B, Thermochimica Acta, and Polymer International. Morgan holds two patents on work pertaining to polymer-supported electrolytes for energy storage applications.
Senior Technical Manager (China)
Richer Zhang works closely with customers in China’s automotive market to enable and successful deliver actnano’s Advanced nanoGUARD™ coatings. His success has helped open the material’s application expansion into AI servers, an exciting opportunity for actnano in China. Richer is a graduate of Suzhou Vocational University and brings 15 years of technical expertise from his tenure at Pegatron.
Sr. Technical Manager (China)
Sophie Lee and her team are responsible for fostering and maintaining strong technical partnerships with our customers in China. She leads the team to evaluate opportunities, design the right product profile, test and validate, and implement at customer facilities. Prior to joining actnano, Sophie spent 10 years with Foxconn as technical manager for the company’s Protective Coating Materials Department. Her work there focused on coating development, process engineering, and manufacturing support. Sophie is an expert in developing coatings for mass production. Sophie has a master’s degree in materials science from University of Science and Technology Beijing.
Senior Account Manager, Southeast Asia (Singapore)
Kelvin Wong is responsible for driving sales and providing critical application support across Southeast Asia. With over 30 years of experience in the SMT industries, including roles at Seagate, Apple, BTU International, and PVA International, he leverages his deep industry knowledge to develop new business opportunities. His work also involves collaborating with global team members on programs reallocated to the region. Kelvin holds a degree in electrical engineering.
Field Application Engineer (Taiwan)
Lara Hsieh bridges the technical aspects of actnano’s technology with what each customer needs. From R&D to optimal product fit to application methods, Lara ensures a smooth transition for customers all the way through to mass production. Her experience includes working as a product application engineer for Kinsus and five years in sales engineering at Dinkle. Lara holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and materials engineering from National Central University.
Technical Manager (Mexico)
Rafael Hernandez Reyes leads actnano’s technical team and application lab in Guadelajara, Mexico. He drives strategies and develops his team of field application engineers to ensure 100% support for customers in Mexico. Rafa has more than 25 years of experience in electronics manufacturing, including leadership and expert roles at Continental Automotive, Humiseal, Dymax, and Plexus Electronica. He holds a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering from the Universidad de Guadalajara and diplomas and certificates for leadership, problem solving, and team coaching from institutions like ITESO, ICAMI, and others.
Technical Manager (India)
Clara Vijay leads actnano’s regional technical strategy and customer engagements in India. Along with her expert team, she drives process development, optimization, and qualification for actnano’s coatings in high-reliability electronics applications. Clara holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry with a specialization in Polymer Chemistry from Anna University Chennai, and a Master’s degree in Chemistry from the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli. Her expertise lies in leading customer-facing technical programs, process scale-up, and managing regional teams. Her work has been published in several scientific journals, including the Journal of Macromolecular Science, the Journal of Applied Polymer Science, and Starch–Stärke. Prior to actnano, Clara led quality systems and process improvements at Newell Brands and worked for five years as a Senior Research Associate at Biocon.
Technical Applications Manager (Germany)
David Nagel serves as one of actnano’s go-to resources for automotive OEM customers in Germany and automotive electronics suppliers throughout Europe. From the lab, David is continuously testing coating solutions, both independently for actnano and for customer applications. Prior to joining actnano as a coatings engineer, David spent time working in electronics manufacturing and conformal coating application with Mynaric. His studies included working with neuronal datasets at the Max Planck Institute, which has helped lay the groundwork for AI mapping of neuronal data. David holds a Bachelor of Science in Bioscience from the University of Heidelberg. He earned his Master of Science in Medical Physics from the Technical University of Munich, with a thesis focused on material characterization.
Product Strategy Manager (Taiwan)
Dem Lee works hand-in-hand with customers, factory teams, and distributors, to support project execution and qualification activities for actnano. He focuses on helping customers understand actnano’s application with regard to corrosion protection, liquid ingress mitigation, and reliability solutions. An accomplished and renowned technical professional, Dem has delivered countless presentations at industry conferences, notably at IMPACT, Surface Mount Technology Association International Technical Conference, and APEX. Dem holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and master’s degree in chemical and materials engineering, both from National Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences.
Principal Scientist
Rey Toufanian’s work focuses on evaluating new customer programs to assess technical compatibility and alignment with actnano’s product portfolio. She applies her deep materials science expertise to design and execute DoEs and material-level testing. Her experience with actnano includes several years working on development of anti-fog and anti-fingerprint coatings and consumer electronics customer support. Prior to joining actnano, Rey spent time as a senior scientist at Capesym on development of novel semiconductors. Rey’s work has been published in Chemistry of Materials, Frontiers in Chemistry, and Nano Letters, among others, with more than 550 citations across the industry. She holds one patent related to her anti-fogging coating work. Rey earned a Ph.D. in materials science and engineering and a Master of Science in materials science and engineering with a biomaterials concentration, both from Boston University.
